"We adopted Fern around 7 years ago. His life before us is a mystery. He was found on the streets of Salem, OR. He is a very sweet dog. He is gentle with kids, cats, livestock and other dogs. He did some goat herding for us years ago! But he is leash reactive (he got attacked by other dogs while in the shelter) Fern loves to hike, and adventure but more than anything he loves to eat. It is his true passion. He will eat basically any vegetable you give him or that he finds in your garden. He doesn`t know he is big and will want to sit on laps and snuggles everyone!
We unfortunately need to rehome him because, a tale as old as time, we ended up having a baby. I did not think I would ever have kids when adopting Fern (or his brother Fig) then I thought I would be able to handle the dogs and the baby. However, I had a traumatic birth leading to chronic pain. I am physically unable to handle my baby and the dogs. We also had some other circumstances change making caring for the dogs even harder.
Fern and Fig have lived together for 6 years however I am unsure if they are truly happiest together. They get along but they have different play styles so they seem to tolerate each other more than enjoy each others company.
Fern has interacted with friends dogs and has liked every one of them. He just wants to play with everyone."

"King is a great dog - house and crate trained, friendly with dogs and is improving on the leash every day. He LOVES people and wants to live in your skin (haha). While ok with my cat with careful monitoring, he is not very careful around him and while with no malicious intent, does frequently bulldoze over him. Since my cat is geriatric and slow, King`s prey drive has been ok, but he should be continued to be watched while younger, more active cats. He has adapted to city life beautifully and is unbothered by traffic, construction, motorcycles, stairs or elevators. He is fully UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and treated for fleas, ticks, and heartworm (simparica trio). While very friendly, he`s a bit of an unintentional brute and his play style is very rough with lots of full contact, something my dog very much does not appreciate. He came from Albuquerque`s large municipal shelter and I arranged his transport to Oregon with the intention of fostering with the possibility of adopting. While he truly is a wonderful dog, he just is not the right fit for me and my other animals."

"Meet this adorable duo, Scarlett Jo and Angel! Scarlett Jo is about 9 years old, while Angel is about 5 years old. These Blue Heelers are the sweetest girls you will ever meet! Both of these girls are so incredibly loyal and ready for their forever family to come pick them up. They can be a bit skittish at first, but it doesn`t take them long to warm up for love and affection. The two of them find solace in each other and would prefer to go home together. Both do amazing with kids and love to play with them! They can both be a bit picky when it comes to other dogs but for the most part, they both do well! To ensure the perfect fit, we always require a meet and greet with any resident dogs. As for cats, Scarlett Jo and Angel do fine and tend to mind their own business. If Scarlett Jo and Angel sound like the perfect duo for your home, come by CASA to meet them!"

"Hello there, I`m Buddy! I`m a ball of energy, always ready for a game of fetch or a fun romp around the yard. My friends here say I`m friendly and sweet, and I think they`re right! I love meeting new people and making friends. I`m always up for a good cuddle or a belly rub. I`ve got a playful spirit that keeps everyone smiling. I`m looking for a family who loves to play and have fun as much as I do. I promise to bring lots of love, laughter, and happiness into your life. Adopt me, and let`s start our adventure together!"

"Rosie is in need of a home with people who have lots of time on their hands to handle her high energy. She is on the go most of the day. She is a master puzzle solver. She will need a fenced yard with room to run. More than anything she wants to herd. She has a sweet disposition but is very busy. She has been exposed to cats however she likes to chase them and would love for them to let her herd them. She loves water, although she has not gone swimming. But the hose is her favorite. I think one day she would be great as a dock dog. She loves going for walks. Still working on the pulling of the leash. Loves playing with her tough toys. Loves to chew bones. She can be mouthy, but has never hurt anybody. She has had some private training as well as public with other dogs. She can sit, lay down, crawl. She is working on wait and stay. We love her dearly and letting her go is very difficult. We just know we are not the right people for her, as we cannot give her the time that she deserves for her high energy. Please consider giving this beautiful dog a home if you have the time and the patience for her personality."

"Sage would do well in a home with active adults and or older kids. She is obedient, fully house trained, loves to fetch, swim and is a great running/hiking/camping companion. She is focused on her person and would make a wonderful partner to someone wanting to skip the puppy phase. Sage bonds strongly and is shy at first with other people but warms up as she gets comfortable. Before her adventure with us she was an only dog, she plays well with our two dogs but ultimately she`d rather be with her person. She is intelligent, treat motivated and would pick up new skills quickly."
